The beautiful Cathedral City of Wells (smallest city in England) is only 6 miles away and the historical Roman City of Bath and its famous spa, is just 14 miles away (there are buses going door to door if you prefer public transport). Glastonbury is about 12 miles, as is Frome (opposite direction) and Bristol, with the Hippodrome Theatre, is 16 miles away (Bristol airport is 30 mins door-to-door).

There is so much to do and see in the surrounding area - here are just a few ideas... you can visit The Walled Garden at Mells, the Lavender Farm at Faulkland, Cheddar Gorge or Wookey Hole (all just 15/20 mins drive away). Longleat Safari Park is under 40 mins drive with Stonehenge a little further on, plus there is fishing, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and archery all within easy reach.

If you just want to stay close by and relax at lunchtime or in the evening, (and have had your fill of bbq) there are three country pubs near to us, with food ranging from regular pub grub to a high-end gastro feast.

A walker's paradise...
Whether it's a gentle stroll or a more energetic hike, the wonderful Mendip Hills are right on our doorstep just waiting to be explored. Walks on the southern ridges should not be missed as they command sweeping views over the Somerset levels towards Glastonbury Tor and, on clear days, the Welsh coastline to the west. This 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' runs inland from the coast near Weston Super Mare to the market town of Frome in the east and boasts a huge choice of footpaths that criss-cross this lovely part of Somerset.
